With so many wrecks and rocky outcrops within easy reach of land, there’s no shortage of fish to be caught. There are a variety of snapper and grouper. Different types of mackerel. However, during the winter months Sailfish and other pelagic fish are abundant. Wahoo and cobia are common, as are Mahi Mahi and blackfin tuna. This trip is for everyone, from seasoned pros looking for trophy fish, to families out for a day of fun!
Summer fishing in the Florida Keys offers excellent opportunities to catch a variety of species, both offshore and inshore. Offshore, anglers can target mahi-mahi (dolphin), tuna, sailfish, and marlin near reefs, structures, and the Gulf Stream. Inshore, snook, tarpon,and redfish remain active, providing diverse fishing experiences. Specifically, July is known for large schools of mangrove snapper gathering to spawn on the reef, and amberjack and permit can be found near wrecks.
